The Wharf Mooloolaba’s rejuvenation redefined a once-dominant landmark on the Sunshine Coast, turning it into a dynamic hub for hospitality, retail, and tourism.

Originally a popular destination in the 1980s, The Wharf had declined over time and was in desperate need of revitalisation.

Together with Evanslong’s development team, we revitalised the precinct, ensuring it remained true to its roots while embracing a new era.

The result: a thriving destination, home to some of the Coast’s most popular hospitality venues.

…Kristen has a unique ability to interpret our overall vision and then is able to take it to a new level…

… I would and do recommend him to anyone in the hospitality or development space.

Dirk Long, Evanslong

CAB ROTO’s ability to work seamlessly and openly with the development team was central to the success of this project.

Our approach focused on maximising the developer’s return on investment by making the most efficient use of space, ensuring flexible tenancies that would attract a broad range of operators.

We delivered more than 100 design projects ranging in size and complexity that respected existing structures, ensuring the precinct evolved without feeling piecemeal, even as work was carried out in phases.

Throughout the project, our close and candid collaboration with the development and building teams ensured that any challenges were swiftly addressed, with solutions that kept costs in check and avoided delays.

BIM modelling was integral in streamlining the entire process, enabling precise coordination and up-to-date management of site data.

This approach not only facilitated clear communication across the team but also enabled us to produce high-quality visualisations for marketing, leasing, and development applications, ensuring that The Wharf’s transformation was accurately portrayed at every stage.

The success of The Wharf Mooloolaba highlights the effectiveness of a unified team. By collaborating closely with the greater development team, we helped delivered a major revitalisation project that respected the past while affording space for future growth.

The Wharf Mooloolaba is a thriving tourism precinct that continues to draw crowds and remains an icon for the Sunshine Coast
