Working with long time client, Helimods, CAB ROTO designed a special projects facility comprising of multiple building types.
This dynamic mixed-use building houses a caretaker’s residence, special projects workshop, offices, storage areas and a space-efficient car stacker.
The bold façade layers off-form concrete with rich, weathered Corten steel, creating a striking interplay of texture and permanence.
A translucent polycarbonate soffit filters daylight into the recessed entry and glows from within at night. A steel universal beam portal frame structure supports vertical greenery, adding softness to the industrial palette. A fusion of utility and sculptural form.
Being so unique, the design project required substantial town plan and building code study, allowing the willing design team to push against the boundaries of normalcy to deliver a balanced, iconic piece of design.
